Watercolour has been my joy for over 17 years now and apart from a 6 month period of 2 classes a week from Welsh artist Arnold Lowrey I am self taught. You’ll find me most days painting in my back bedroom next to my graciously north lit window looking out on my back yard in a mid-terrace 19th century mine workers house.

I paint animals pure and simple – natural colours, natural expressions, natural poses and just a pinch of magical spatter. I use my art to hopefully increase the appreciation of animals and the integral part they have in our world

Also I feel a deep need to paint something that will always be relevant – that won’t “date”. I want these animals to stay with their recipients forever – even becoming heirlooms and always appropriate whatever the age. Read More…
