Working in gouach, watercolours and ink, she enjoys creating humour in her art. The colourful characters in her intricate works often get into mischief or mayhem! Melanie’s first series of works ‘Enchanted Collection’ was sparked by a desire to create a whimsical magical scene for children’s bedrooms that revealed something new each time they looked at their paintings.

Alongside her art, Melanie also has a writing career having been editor of a lifestyle magazine and has had numerous features and articles published in the press. She is currently working on a series of short stories for children that she plans to illustrate.

She loves to compose on the piano and enjoys writing poetry and fiction, looking after her animals and exploring the countryside looking for inspiration and new ideas for future paintings.
